It is important to clean your pond before your water garden completely awakens from its winter dormancy. Ideally before the water temperature in the pond creeps above 55º F. If a clean-out is performed when the water is warmer, after bacteria colonies form, the balance of the ecosystem will again be thrown off and your pond will go through another “green phase” before the bacteria colonies re-establish themselves again. - Drain existing water from pond and remove debris.
- Power wash gravel and stone inside pond, filter mats, and lava rock bags in Biofall and Skimmer
- Rinse gravel
- Re-connect and re-install pump.
- Begin the refill of Pond with fresh water. (Supplied by customers hose)
- Add dechlorinator to neutralize chlorine
- Add dry bacteria to jump start Eco-system
- Test start pump, and Biofall.
- Plant any water foliage upon request.
- Re-introduce fish back to pond
